Alveolar Bone Augmentation
Alveolar bone is a part of jaw bones which houses the teeth. Upon looseing or removing teeth the bone slowly resorbs or reduces in size. Tooth replacemment by implant (screw shaped prosthesis usually of titanium) require stable bone to be fixed.
Alveolar bone grafting is thus a small surgical procedure to increase the bone volume for future implant placement. It can be done to increase the height , width or both of alveolar bone. It is also done as a part of gum surgery for teeth affected by periodontal disease.
Various bone grafting procedures are performed at our clinic
Onlay bone grafting: Bone (synthetic or natural) is placed above the native bone. Sandwich osteotomy : Bone is placed between two layers of native bone. Sinus lift surgery GBR: guided bone regeneration
Doctor is very much interested in bone grafting surgeries as ‘Sandwich Osteotomy’ was his research topic and has performed many such surgeries. For Consultation Contact Today!
